Notes from the dealer
2019 Hyundai Tucson is pretty popular, especially in the compact SUV category, but its a popular for value rather than top luxury pick type of popularity.Good value for money: Its usually cheaper than rivals like the Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR-V while still offering lots of features.Reliability is mixed: Some owners report engine oil consumption, catalytic converter issues, or infotainment problems. Many owners say its comfortable and reliable enough for normal use
Peace of mind

Great car until road trip/OIL ISSUES
by Brooke on 3/1/2026 7:55:40 PM
Unfortunately the reviews about high oil consumption/engine failure are true. I LOVE my 2018 Tucson but after a road trip I didn’t check the oil (although I kept up with changes and had one before road trip), it ended up burning oil and now I have camshaft timing chain/engine issues …$3,500plus estimate to repair. 131k miles I don’t think I’m going to fix it. I’m heartbroken. Second Hyundai and am just mad at myself for not checking the oil on the 6 hour road trip. I didn’t know about oil issues before this happened. No lights came on indicating low oil. If I had only checked the oil. So upset. - 5.0
Dependable
by Most reliable ever on 12/18/2025 3:44:07 AM
68,00 miles with only regular service. Never had a problem of any kind. I changed the wiper blades and that’s it. Original tires, amazing mpg on highway 35+! - 5.0
